The Nishine Outer Tuning Weight allows you to tune the Erie Jerkbaits for a more exact performace. Made of a maleable lead, you can trim the weight to meet your needs. Without the weight the Erie 115SD acts has a slow float, with the weight a slow sink. Or cut the weight in half to get the bait to suspend. You can tweak it however you'd like to get the performance you desire.
