The Tide Minnow Slim 140 enjoyed its popularity among surf fishing anglers, and the long awaited full model change has arrived. With the modifications on the weight system, the castability has drastically improved. Further, we have adjusted the action and body balance to better suit the ever changing rough conditions in the surf.
In terms of casting performance, the center-of-gravity shifting system has been upgraded from a magnetically fixed steel ball to a free-moving tungsten ball, resulting in a more rearward center of gravity during casts. In addition, by sharply narrowing the rear outline of the body, air resistance has been significantly reduced. The high-density tungsten ball moves smoothly within the body, ensuring that even light casts maintain a stable, undisturbed flight posture—delivering an increase in casting distance of over 10% compared to our previous models.
Regarding action response, the well-received rolling action has been retained, while water contact has been enhanced so that the lure more accurately reads the complex currents of the surf and holds its balance even near rough, breaking waves. As a result, compared to the old model, the lure exhibits a greater swing amplitude and a moderately stronger pull resistance. The running depth has been deepened to approximately 80–120 cm, compared to the previous range of 50–80 cm, offering a notably deeper trace range.
